FFFFFFFFFAAAACK

Seeing the leaked documents from the Supreme Court of the United States is both not surprising and absolutely infuriating. This is what we knew would be coming when the Supreme Court was stacked to prioritize ‘conservative values’ over human rights.

Justice Alito’s decision would overturn Roe by ruling that Americans have no constitutional right to privacy. Since the right to privacy was central to Obergefell v. Hodges, the 2015 decision that legalized same-sex marriage, and Griswold v. Connecticut, the 1965 decision that stopped states from banning contraception, those rulings could also be under threat.” – Source: The Globe and Mail

I am pro abortion.

I am pro same-sex marriage.

I am pro having access to contraception, and any and all medication they need.

I am pro human rights.

I am against anyone believing they have the right to these choices for anyone else. If you don’t want an abortion, then don’t get one. If you don’t want to be in a same-sex marriage, don’t marry someone of the same sex. If you do not want to use contraception, then don’t. DO NOT try to make that choice for someone else.

  1. I agree totally. My Dad used to say all the time “each to their own” and I believe that. Each person can make their own choices about marriage, divorce, relationships (be it straight or bi or whatever they feel is right for them), sex, children, pregnancy, abortion – whatever that person feels in their heart is right, then they have every right to choose it.

  2. I’m kind of ashamed of my country. Like lots of good things (I guess. And I’m not really optimistic right now.) But damn we are so socially backwards. I can’t keep thinking what the big deal is for people to just do what they’d like to do if it doesn’t encroach on anyone else’s rights. Aren’t we supposedly founded upon the idea of freedom?

  3. We knew all along that it was coming, and that’s why we were getting ready. In my state, the abortion right is guaranteed, and we will continue to help people from other states, and we will continue to protest.

  4. Indeed. We should all be worried about the rise of fascism in democratic countries especially ones as influential as the US, or when it’s our own country. Jan 6th was a ridiculously close call.

We really need a general increase in awareness of history and the realities of fascism, and an increase in pro-activity and activism. I am glad you discuss these things.

  5. This is a touchy subject for me because I am #ProLife and I have my personal reasons for it, just like a #prochoice person has their reasons for what they believe.

I believe that people should be free to do as they want but be willing to accept the emotional consequences that come with such a life-changing decision, like abortion. For every decision we make, there are consequences… both good and bad. It’s sad seeing how divided people are on this subject. People should be allowed to live their lives the way they choose to live them without being criticized and ostracized for what they believe.

  6. This topic enrages me. How do these think they have the right to dictate how anyone else should behave and particularly what a woman should or should not do with her own body. If they are so concerned for the “helpless, innocent unborn” let them fall on their knees and pray since they believe all that shit. My conscience is my business. And the fact is that by overturning R v W, it will be the poor and the luckless that will suffer as will any child they have to bear. It is no gift to be born unwanted or worse the product of rape or incest. God it makes me MAD!!!

  7. All I can think about is, “Archie Bunker” has risen. I grew up hearing this, “keep them barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen.
I was totally in shock when this document was brought to light. It feels like America is going backwards, not forward.
Makes me wonder what they will attack next!

  8. Right when I think it can’t get worse here in the US, something horrible happens like this SC decision. Fuck… It feels like another civil war is on the way, and I don’t know what to do. I vote for politicians that support abortion rights and progressive policy. I’m so angry about this… Now there’s a huge amount of voters (trump supporters) who want fascism. Who don’t want reality. What a world…
